Christi and I met on a yahoo group a few years ago and rapidly became great friends. Life gets in the way of our daily communications now, but I love Christi dearly for her spirit, her love of life, and her generosity. Christi is truly one of the nicest people I have ever met. She is also incredibly talented and she doesn't come close to looking 50!!! Happy Birthday Christi! I love you!!

I made this card for Christi's 50th, and of course it isn't in the mail yet. <sigh> Someday I will be on time.... Christi's mom and her daughter put together this blog hop for Christi's big day. How COOL is that?!!! Enjoy!!!
</sigh>
<sigh>

Next stop on Christi's Fabulous 50th birthday blog hop is </sigh>http://sarahspapertray.blogspot.com/ .
Stamp credits: Cupcake image is Hero Arts; rub-ons are Making Memories (Heidi Swapp); Happy Birthday is CTMH; dotted background& little heart are Stampin' Up and the 50 is from the Base Camp Cricut cartridge.
<sigh>
</sigh>

I am so excited!! I just came up with my very first template!! I have seen these boxes around and I really liked them, but I don't want to spend the money on a die cut to make one. Sooooo.....I came up with an easy peasy pattern to use.

I used CTMH New England Ivy cardstock and some NE Ivy retired Background and Texture paper. The ink is CTMH Cranberry and NE Ivy. The stamps sets are the December word puzzle and that great tree set that I just LOVE called Evergreen. This year I am a little more patriotic than I have been in year's past. My oldest is getting ready to graduate from Basic Training this month (he will be an MP in the Guard while finishing college and then will go active duty with the army). I could not be more proud of him. He has worked hard and done things that most college kids his age would not dream of doing. He has gotten unbelievably physically fit while in basic and feels great both physically and mentally.

I am sending him this card to remind him just how proud of him I really am.

I used Originals Lucky 3 pattern on page 59 and the Vintage USA set. The colors are Cranberry and Indian Corn Blue.

Enjoy and please have a happy and safe 4th of July!!

Hi! I hope you all are staying cool! We are having hot and humid days here in North Carolina. I always wish I lived in the mountains when it is like this!

I just made this card in about 5 minutes using an Originals pattern. I LOVE that book...the patterns are so easy to follow and you can easily change things up to suit your needs. The Moon Doggie papers are perfect for summer fun cards.

I used: Moon Doggie level 2 paper packet, Originals pattern Balance it Out (pg 102), Indian Corn Blue and Cranberry CTMH inks, and a retired chipboard element that is similar to the perennials dimensional elements . I also added a button, some waxy flax and some brads. The edges of everything are distressed with sand paper and the main greeting is edge distressed with bamboo ink.

Thanks for stopping by and stay cool!

Well, here we are at home and life is settling back in to the normal routine of driving, schooling, etc... <sigh> Summer will be here soon!

I made this gated fold tag (another</sigh><sigh> Technique Junkie technique card) for my daughter to house some of the funny pictures we have taken of her over the years. It has been a fabulous trip and I am sort of dragging my feet not really wanting to get back into the groove of being at home. The fun thing though is that I have a CTMH order waiting for me with some great new products including the new 9 X 9 Moon Doggie papers that I am going to use to scrapbook this beach vacation.

Today's card is another bandana technique that was a technique junkie tutorial a while back. Very fun and easy to do! Stamps are CTMH (background images) and TAC (definition of art). Welcome to day one of my "refurbished" blog! We are on spring break at the beach right now. It is cold and somewhat dismal out so we are all huddled inside.

This card is one that I made for the Technique Junkies newsletter a year or so ago. The assignment was faux layers. This card is completely FLAT...not a layer on it. It just looks layered. The trick to doing this technique is to think in reverse. The first thing you stamp is what you will see the most of....in other words, stamp the top "layer" first. Then mask and work "down" from there. All stamps and papers are CTMH. Enjoy!
